Culbaba Theatre was honoured to take part in the Bexhill Festival of Music with a special performance at the historic Coronation Bandstand on Bexhill seafront.

On 4 May, Culbaba Theatre proudly took part in Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green for the second year running – one of the most vibrant and beloved traditional festivals in the UK.

On the first weekend of May, Culbaba Theatre was delighted to take part in Ethno Echo, a cultural event held at Brighton Unitarian Church that brought together artists, makers, performers and visitors from many different countries to celebrate Ukrainian heritage.

Some songs survive wars, borders and time — simply because someone keeps singing them.

On Sunday, 12th April, Culbaba Theatre brought the local community together in Egerton Park to share Ukrainian Easter traditions and to step into the celebration of spring — together.

Today members of Culbaba Theatre stood together with our community at the Bexhill War Memorial and laid a wreath in remembrance.

On the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, an educational event in Hastings brought together historians, researchers, public figures and members of the local community to explore the historical roots of the ongoing war and Ukraine’s long struggle to preserve its identity.

Last Saturday, our Culbaba Theatre family brought to life “A Ukrainian Wedding Traditions” — a heartfelt journey through the beauty, humour, and deep symbolism of Ukrainian marriage traditions. 

A celebration of culture, community and international connection unfolded in East Sussex this week, with Culbaba Theatre providing the principal musical programme for the Mriya festival.
