Today members of Culbaba Theatre stood together with our community at the Bexhill War Memorial and laid a wreath in remembrance.

This year Ukrainians mark the 12th anniversary of the beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian war (2014) and the 4th anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine (2022). For Ukrainians, this week carries deep pain, memory, and resilience.

Three years ago, the Ukrainian community of Bexhill began this tradition of gathering in dignity and reflection during this painful week for Ukraine. We are deeply moved that this tradition continues to grow and to receive the support of Bexhill-on-Sea Town Council, our local MP Dr Kieran Mullan, the veterans represented by the Royal British Legion, Rother Voluntary Action, and AUGB Hastings and Rother Branch, AUGB Eastbourne Branch.

In moments like these, solidarity matters. Presence matters. Standing side by side in silence matters. We remember the fallen. We stand with the living. Ukraine is not alone.
