CULBABA THEATRE – FUNDRAISING REPORT
Report period covered: March – August 2024
This year, Culbaba Theatre held our first fundraising initiative. We organised two charity community events: one Open Rehearsal on Easter, and the Mriya Festival during Refugee Week in England. Through these two events, together with our supporters, we raised a total of £1,263.
We also took part in several charitable activities in neighbouring towns, supporting other Ukrainian-led community groups across East Sussex.
Every single pound raised went directly towards the purchase of medical tourniquets for Ukrainian defenders. Our work is fully voluntary — we have no paid staff, no hidden administration costs and no operational deductions. Everything collected was used strictly for the tactical medical needs we committed to support.
All purchased tourniquets were packed and sent directly to the front line — specifically addressed to the unit where Taras Slobodyan, medic of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade “Magura”, is responsible for medical support. The items have been successfully received in Ukraine.
Knowing that these tourniquets are now in the hands of medics who are saving lives every day is the most powerful confirmation that what we do matters. It is not only practical support — it is emotional support, trust and solidarity.
The strength of Ukrainians is in unity.
No matter the distance, each of us is contributing in the way we can — and together we move towards our shared victory.
