Our Mission
Culbaba Theatre is committed to safeguard and transmit Ukrainian intangible cultural heritage through disciplined artistic practice and thoughtful public engagement.
We develop performances and educational programmes that balance scholarship with accessibility. Each project is carefully selected and prepared, ensuring cultural integrity, artistic quality and meaningful public value.
We aim not only to perform, but to deepen understanding — creating space for attentive listening, reflection and genuine cultural exchange.
Our Vision
We envision a society in which Ukrainian culture is recognised as distinct, historically rooted and culturally significant within Europe and beyond.
We seek to contribute to a clearer understanding of Ukraine’s artistic legacy and historical experience, including the voices and traditions that were silenced or suppressed under imperial and Soviet regimes.
Our long-term vision is to establish Culbaba Theatre as a trusted centre for Ukrainian cultural heritage in the UK — where tradition is studied with care, presented with integrity, and allowed to evolve in contemporary society.
