Culbaba Theatre is a Ukrainian non-profit cultural organisation based in East Sussex. Founded by Ukrainian women now living in the UK, we are dedicated to preserving and presenting authentic Ukrainian traditional song, ritual and theatrical heritage.
Our work is shaped by research, historical awareness and professional artistic leadership. We draw on archival sources, regional vocal traditions and documented ceremonial practices to ensure that what we share reflects cultural depth rather than surface representation.
At the same time, our work remains human. Rehearsals are spaces of learning and continuity; performances are moments of shared attention and respect. We aim to present Ukrainian heritage with depth, clarity and care — not as decoration, but as living tradition.
